History of Alexander
Rebuilt in 1956 after fire destroyed the original building, Alexander High School was one of the premier high schools in the
State of Mississippi. In 1970, when Alexander High consolidated with Brookhaven High School into the BHS facility, the school
became home to all Brookhaven School District eighth and ninth graders and was renamed Alexander Jr. High School. Later, the
ninth grade was moved to the high school and Alexander Jr. High housed all 7th and 8th graders of the Brookhaven School District.
